Remember when...

Remember back to just last weekend when we were all feeling well and having a good time? Here's a picture to remind you. And if I can ever figure out how to get video on here, or link to it, I have a great video of Fen laughing that I would love to show you all. I'm working on it. This is where I realize my computer skills are limited and there is ALWAYS more to learn.
Fender is well on the mend. No fever for a couple of days and he slept well last night, on his own. He has a lingering cough and runny nose, but so far it doesn't seem to be moving to his chest. Meanwhile, Drew and I are still sick and I feel miserable, but hopefully we're both on the mend too. Hope to get to rest some this weekend.

The big crud...

Well, it has finally happened. Fender got sick. :( So much for hoping I'd have the first kid ever who would never get sick. :) He had fever the first night, which tylenol knocked out. He had a slight fever trying to fight off whatever, but it got high again the second night so we gave another dose of tylenol. The fever has been gone for the past two days now and he gets better each day. He still has a little cough and is congestion, but it is still draining and so far not in the chest. Meanwhile, I've had no sleep due to holding my precious bundle (the drainage gets bad if he lays down, so he prefers to be held, of course) and now I'm sick. Drew has it too, but seems to be fighting it a little better. If I can get some rest I think I'll recouperate too. Fender hadn't slept much at all until last night. And the rest definately helped him. Hopefully all of this will be behind us soon.

Ch...ch...ch...changes...

I've had to switch to a new format for this blog, which involves crazy email google stuff, which I'm trying to figure out. Hope I've done it right, but just in case I can't get back on and post anything for a bit, I wanted you all to know the reason why.

No pictures at the moment, as I am about to go pick up Fender from Daycare for the day, but I also wanted to note that he has begun sleeping through the night! Yippee!!!! I pray it is an official change, but it has only been the past three nights in a row. He has given us a whole 6-7 hour stretch. So far, it has caught me off-guard enough that I'm not sleeping through the entire time yet, but hopefully we're all working on a good schedule. Life is great. He goes in for his 4 month check up on Feb 5th. Woo-hoo!!!

More cute pictures...

We can't help it...he is just growing and changing so fast. Eventually I can see where a once a year, school picture, might capture any physical changes from year to year, but at the moment, the boy has us wrapped around his little finger...we can't take our eyes (or camera) off him. :)

Growing up...

I continue to be amazed by Fender's physical and mental growth every week and sometimes daily. Today, for instance, he laid down to watch the musical lights of one of his toys and was able to reach the buttons to make it start again. He was also able to reach several of the playthings and noise makers when he sits in his playcircle thingy. Two days in daycare and no more need for mom to make all the toys work and entertain anymore. Hee Hee. Oh yeah, and he grabbed a spoon from Drew's hand today and didn't want to let that go. He thought it was very funny...hence the great photo below. :) First two photos are of Fender at his first day of daycare. The first one was when I dropped him off in the morning and the second was when I picked him up. So far so good. The last photo is Fen showing off his belly like his Uncle Bobby did when he scored his first MLS goal. :)

Daycare...

Well, tomorrow we're off to our first day of daycare. All-in-all, this was the best one I looked at and they had a kid move up yesterday when I called, so we just barely made it in. This particular daycare was voted Best in Terrell for 1996-2002. Not sure if they just hadn't updated signs since then or if they haven't been the best, but, again, they were the best I walked into. Very friendly and lots of care providers in the room. They assign two, but there is usually a "floater" in there as well. All the kids seemed happy and active, unlike the others, where the kids were not being stimulated and the people looking after them never seemed to look as if they cared. I think everything will work out. I'm certainly looking forward to getting some quality work done at the office now.

Here are some fun pictures from the past couple of days.

A happy new year...

Today we took Fen and Sebastian for a walk at the park. It was cold and windy so we had to dress up pretty warm... Fen got to wear his new outfit, complete with hat, shoes and all. :)

With all the rip roaring holiday fun behind us, we have stepped into the New Year. Work is in full swing for both of us...our busiest time of year...and Fen is still coming to the office with me. We desperately need to find good childcare. It doesn't look very promising. Oh well... we do what we have to do and make the most of what we have. We enjoyed a very lazy New Year. It was a cold day and I fastened Fender into a "front carrier" for playtime with Sebastian. Fen looked so cute in his little outfit, complete with hat and mittins, sent over from our good friend, Vicky in England. He is quickly outgrowing that and many outfits, which seemed so big on him before. Amazing! He seems to be skipping over the 3-6 month clothes and straight into the 6-9 month outfits. He is smiling and laughing and trying to talk to us already. He is trying to sit up on his own and loves to stand and hold himself up (with just a little support in case he leans to a side and falls). He seems to be sleeping longer stretches, we are now at 2am and 6am, but he only sleeps another hour and wants to wake up and play at 7AM. That is just WAY too early for me, but again...we do what we have to. So without any further ado... here are pictures from the new year.
