All I want for Christmas...

Can't seem to find a video of this anywhere, but ask Fender what he wants for Christmas this year and his response is "World Peace!" I love it! And for those of you wondering if I coached him on it...well, yes I did, but only one time right before the "Breakfast with Santa" and he completely chose to ignore me and never said a word to Santa. I thought it would be cute. But that was that. Then two weeks later, and no further coaching at all...the girls at the daycare got all excited and had to tell me that he told them he wanted World Peace for Christmas when they asked him. That made me so proud, even though he doesn't understand what he is asking for at this point, at least the seed is planted that it is a good thing to ask for at Christmastime.

His response also served as a reminder to me that he picks up everything he hears the first time around...always has. Especially when it comes to disciplining. He knows when he does something wrong and he knows what I want him to do when I ask him to do something, but it is his own sturbborness and not ignorance that keep him from responding to me appropriately. The little bugger. Oh the joys of being parent of a toddler.

...completely unrelated...a couple of weeks back Fender told me "Green light means GO, Momma!" when I failed to realize the light had turned green right away. That cracked me up.

He's finished with Nemo for the most part now and moved on to Wall-E, which he watched repeatedly until I guess he learned it all and now he has finally stopped watching that in favor of The Jungle Book all the time. Yea "Bear Necessities!" It is interesting to see how he watches one thing over and over until he can quote it and then he moves on to something else. He also loves Diego and Wonder Pets on the Noggin channel. He recently started asking us "you okay,(insert name of person)?" and I finally realized he picked that up from Wonder Pets.

He recognizes most of the individual alphabet letters now and knows them if you show him in sign language too. His favorite is E and P because he can make those with his hand. He will tell you he is "Two" but still holds up three fingers. He loves to say I love you and show the sign for it too. That sign is a couple of fingers off, but close enough you get the idea.

I finished his second book via blurb.com and again, I highly recommend you girls with tots look into it. It is a fun labor of love and not all that much effort.
