Summer business...

Last week we continued our summer business which included another super fun birthday party at the Forney Sprinkler Park for our neighbor down the street who turned three. Thursday night we attended the Terrell graduation ceremony in Garland where his Godfather, Garrett, and his cousin, Carli both graduated. And one evening, Fender came up to play while I worked a booth at an event hosted by our local library.

The new Forney sprinkler park is awesome!! It is free and they have two fantastic play ground set-ups for the kids in addition to the wonderful sprinkler area. Everyone really enjoyed it. Here, Fender wants to be like the big kids climbing up the ropes. I was amazed he did so well. Until he made one final grab at the very top that I encouraged him NOT to go for, he was up and down on his own. I had to go up and get him off the last one, but he wasn't in danger of falling. He was holding on tight with his hands and his legs wrapped around another level and he just looked at me and said, "Momma, you help me get down, please?"

This is the birthday boy admiring the Lincoln Logs we got him. Fender was admiring the big new backyard water slide he got. Since he lives right down the street, I bet he'll get to know that slide pretty well.

Last weekend Fender got to play in the McDonald's playground for the first time too. Ever since a report I did about their food in High School, I've pretty much steered clear of eating there. And, while breakfast was tasty that morning, it didn't feel so good in my belly so I don't plan on returning anytime soon. His Daddy joked that Fender is so deprived..."Is he an American boy?" Well, whatever...he can eat there and play if someone else takes him, but I will continue to take the deprived kid to the park to play.

This is me working the Co-op booth at the Library...

...and this is Fender having a rest at the booth after jumping and sliding around the bounce house in the 90 degree heat.

Rainy day needed an umbrella...

Garrett in front row looking back...didn't get any other decent pictures.

Carli receiving her diploma.

More to come as we drove out to pick a few blueberries this morning at a local farm. And tonight we're off to Frisco for the soccer game. If you still don't know...Drew's youngest brother, Bobby, plays professional soccer for the Houston Dynamos and tonight they play Dallas.

You can vote for Bobby as an MLS All-Star here: (okay links never work for me...you can go to their website at http://web.mlsnet.com/t200/, enter the site, and click on the banner at the top that says "Vote for MLS All-Stars". He's a defender and you can register a bogus email address or enter your real address and click "not to receive notices." You know... You can vote up to 10 times a day.

And you can watch the game tonight at 7:30 central, if you get FSC (Fox Soccer Channel).
