He also likes to remind me that he was a little baby in my belly, and that Daddy was a baby one time too. He says he wants to read to the babies, and kiss them and tickle them, and teach them to run and jump and make chocolate milk. We'll have to wait and see just how involved he wants to be after they get here. I won't hold my breath on all that help, but I have to admit he has reached a very helpful stage. :) Happy to bring me water whenever I need, washes his face and hands and goes potty all by himself. If we need him to do something, he typically does it...but he is a boy and is occasionally side tracked before completing a task and you have to be sure to physically pause or turn off whatever might be occupying his attention at the time if you would like him to do something while he is otherwise engaged.
He is good about going to bed now in his own bed by himself. We still try to have a bath around 8:30PM then settle down to watch Blue's Clues. After that he typically heads to bed, where I have a drink of chocolate milk waiting for him. Sometimes we read a book before getting into bed, sometimes after he is in bed, sometimes not at all. It depends on what he wants to do. And then we say our prayers and depending on nothing in particular, some nights he wants his light off and others he wants a small light on. Most nights, he will get out of bed after finishing his milk just to turn off his light by himself and gets back into bed to sleep. Asleep by 9:30 - 10PM most nights.
His favorite song is the theme to the old Transformers. I have no idea why we haven't recorded him singing this song yet. It is pretty funny. He wakes up singing it, sings it most of the day when he plays, at bath time, etc. "Transformers...more than meets the eye. Transformers...robots in disguise. Autobots wage their battle to destroy the evil forces of...the deceptacons." Have we mentioned that he's a Transformer fan? He has transformer everything, thanks to his Daddy, though I'm sure somehow they both think he could have more. He has the original 80's cartoon Transformer movie (with voices by Eric Idle, Judd Nelson, and Leonard Nimoy...I'm not kidding). Plus the first Transformer movie from a couple of years back, and even some of the original cartoon series on the computer. I'm pretty much on Transformer overload and have no idea how they are not.
Transformer repercussion...on more than one occasion I've had to explain to our boy that the police car is NOT a bad guy but a good guy and that deceptacons get their name because they are deceptive and impersonate good guys. So...at two years old, I'm trying to explain the concepts of deception and impersonation...not great. He does best when you explain that most everyone in the "real" world are good guys on a daily basis and that the bad guys are mostly on TV. Plus...he recently received a few great toys: a stunt rider and his motorcycle and a helicopter...it took a little while before he understood that some toys are just what you see and do not transform into anything else. We actually have to hold the helicopter in the air and run the house circle making whirrring noises because it doesn't have batteries that would do that for us. And the same for the motorcycle and rider. He seems to like them just the same now that he understands them.
Here are a couple of pics from this weekend.

Fun update...doesn't he just make you smile! So much of it sounds very familiar to the Finn in our house.
